2016 Aileron Stables
In the field are Safira, Siskel, Belfast, Bellevue, Bedeque, and Santerina (not in that order). 3 Yearlings, 2 are 2 yr olds and a 3 yr old.But it’s Bellevue with the white stockings!

This handsome bay colt is Belgrade and was an embryo transfer into the mare Cassie.
It’s the nicest morning yet in 2016 and the foals had started appearing at Aileron Stables. Ruth kindly showed me these three treasures, all colts.

Cassie wanted to check out my camera…and then let the colt nurse.

Peaceful contentment, a spring afternoon.

Trying the big boy’s grub

Foals have a love/hate relationship with mom’s tail. Good for flies but bad for showing off!

And then we went back to the barn…and look who’s ready to show off!

They look like the Beswick figurines “Black Beauty and Foal”. The mare is Martina and this colt is Hallstatt, (Harvard/Weltruhm/Donnerhall)

and he insisted on a sprig of hay …

but posed like he knew he was the star!
